Shaun Pulfrey pitched the hair-styling product Tangle Teezer on the BBC programme Dragon's Den.
Tangle Teezer is a detangling hairbrush designed with flexible teeth intended to loosen knots while reducing pulling. Pulfrey, a British hairdresser and inventor, developed the product after experimenting with a brush that could work through tangled hair more gently.
The dragons rejected the pitch, but the company went on to achieve substantial international sales. Its later success is frequently cited as an example of a Dragon's Den business that did not secure investment yet still built a large brand.
The name is sometimes confused with generic detangling brushes or with rival products. Tangle Teezer is the specific brand created by Pulfrey, and the relevant Dragon's Den connection is his pitch for that branded product, not a later celebrity endorsement or retail partnership.
