Moonpig was the greeting-card website founded by Dragon's Den investor Nick Jenkins.
Jenkins founded Moonpig in 2000 after identifying an opportunity to sell personalised greeting cards online. Customers could add names, photographs, and tailored messages, distinguishing the service from conventional cards selected in a shop.
The company grew into a major online card and gifts business and later became part of the Moonpig Group. Jenkins subsequently appeared as a Dragon on the British television programme, bringing the experience of building a digital consumer brand to the panel.
Moonpig is sometimes mixed up with Red Letter Days, the experience-gift company founded by Rachel Elnaugh, or with Ryman, the stationery chain associated with Theo Paphitis. Those companies belong to different Dragons and different retail categories.
