Which Gran Turismo game introduced the Vision Gran Turismo car project?
Answer
Gran Turismo 6
Answer
Gran Turismo 6
Gran Turismo 6 introduced the Vision Gran Turismo car project. The program was created to celebrate Gran Turismo’s 15th anniversary, inviting automakers and design studios to imagine futuristic concept cars specifically for the game.
Polyphony Digital announced Vision Gran Turismo in 2013, and the first virtual cars appeared in Gran Turismo 6. Participating designers included Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Nissan, Toyota, Volkswagen, Zagato, and Alpine. These vehicles were not simply ordinary production cars; they were digital concepts built around bold styling, advanced technology, and racing performance.
The project continued in Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7, where additional Vision GT cars arrived through game updates and other content releases. Some concepts later influenced real-world vehicles, including the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo’s relationship to the Bugatti Chiron.
A common mix-up is Gran Turismo Sport, because it featured many Vision GT cars and helped expand the program. However, GT6 was the first game in the series to introduce the project.
