Tiger Woods became the youngest winner of the Masters Tournament when he won in 1997.
Woods was 21 years and 104 days old when he captured the title at Augusta National. He finished at 18-under-par 270 and won by 12 strokes, producing one of the most dominant performances in major-championship history. The victory was his first major championship and came only months after he turned professional in 1996.
His 1997 triumph also broke the Masters' 72-hole scoring record at the time and made Woods an immediate global sports star. He later won the Masters again in 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2019. Jordan Spieth became the second-youngest Masters champion in 2015, but Woods remains the youngest winner in tournament history.
