Which Golden Globe category did The Secret Agent win at the 2026 ceremony?
Answer
Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language
The Secret Agent won Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language at the 2026 Golden Globes.
The Brazilian film, directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, is set during Brazil’s military dictatorship and follows a man attempting to escape a politically dangerous past. Its international category win recognized the film’s language and national cinema context.
The Secret Agent also received major recognition for Wagner Moura, who won Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama. That combination made the film one of the ceremony’s notable international successes.
The award category is distinct from Best Motion Picture – Drama. The Secret Agent competed in the drama acting field through Moura, but its film-level victory came in the non-English-language category. The other nominees there represented France, South Korea, Norway, Spain, and Tunisia.
