Noah sent the raven out of the Ark first.
Genesis 8:6–7 says that after 40 days Noah opened the window and sent out a raven. The bird went back and forth until the waters had dried from the earth. Noah then sent a dove on multiple occasions to obtain further information about the condition of the land.
This question concerns the person who released the bird, not the identity of the bird itself. The raven episode is also distinct from the later dove episode and from the olive leaf that the dove eventually brought back. Genesis presents these actions as part of Noah’s efforts to determine whether the Flood had receded enough for the Ark’s occupants to leave.
