Which game introduced the Mortal Kombat character Noob Saibot?

The story behind the answer

Mortal Kombat II introduced the Mortal Kombat character Noob Saibot.

Noob Saibot first appeared as a hidden, non-playable opponent in Mortal Kombat II. The character was presented as a mysterious black-clad warrior, and his identity was not initially explained to players. Later Mortal Kombat stories established that Noob Saibot is Bi-Han, the original Sub-Zero, resurrected as a wraith.

The name Noob Saibot is a joke based on the surnames of the series’ creators, Ed Boon and John Tobias, reversed. “Boon” becomes “Noob” and “Tobias” becomes “Saibot,” creating the character’s unusual name.

Noob Saibot became a regular playable fighter in later games and developed shadow-based attacks, including a shadow clone. His history connects the original Sub-Zero, the Lin Kuei, and the supernatural themes that became increasingly important in the series.
