Which game introduced the Assassin's Creed series to ancient Egypt?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Origins introduced the Assassin's Creed series to ancient Egypt.

Released in 2017, Origins is set during the Ptolemaic period, primarily in the first century BCE. Its world includes the Siwa Oasis, Alexandria, Memphis, the Nile Valley, deserts, and other regions of Egypt. The setting allowed the developers to explore Egyptian religion, politics, architecture, and the relationship between Greek and Egyptian cultures.

The story follows Bayek of Siwa and explains the creation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood. This makes Origins a foundational story within the fictional chronology, even though it was released long after the first games.

Odyssey explores ancient Greece, Valhalla focuses on Viking-era England and Norway, and Mirage is set mainly in ninth-century Baghdad. Those games also use historical settings, but Origins is the series entry specifically associated with ancient Egypt.
