Which French manufacturer swept the overall podium at the 1993 24 Hours of Le Mans?

The story behind the answer

Peugeot swept the overall podium at the 1993 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Peugeot Sport’s three 905 prototypes finished first, second and third, giving the French manufacturer a landmark clean sweep at the Circuit de la Sarthe. The winning Peugeot 905 was driven by Éric Hélary, Christophe Bouchut and Geoff Brabham, while sister Peugeot entries completed the podium.

The result was especially notable because Peugeot had only recently entered the top-level prototype battle. Its 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V10 905 was built for the Group C era and benefited from a powerful factory effort led by Jean Todt.

This was not simply a French-team victory: Peugeot became the first French marque to sweep the Le Mans podium since Lorraine-Dietrich achieved the feat in 1926. The result is sometimes confused with Renault-Alpine or Matra successes, but neither produced the 1993 one-two-three.
