Which French fashion house collaborated with H&M on a collection designed by Alber Elbaz in 2010?

The story behind the answer

Lanvin collaborated with H&M on a 2010 collection designed by Alber Elbaz.

Lanvin is one of France’s oldest fashion houses, founded in Paris by Jeanne Lanvin in 1889. Under Alber Elbaz, who served as the house’s artistic director from 2001 to 2015, Lanvin became especially recognized for draped eveningwear, polished tailoring and strongly feminine silhouettes.

The H&M collection was announced in 2010 and included womenswear, menswear and accessories. It translated Lanvin’s luxury visual language into a limited high-street release, continuing H&M’s series of designer partnerships.

Lanvin is sometimes confused with Balmain in H&M collaboration trivia. Balmain’s H&M collection came later, in 2015, and was associated with designer Olivier Rousteing. The 2010 partnership belongs to Lanvin and Alber Elbaz.
