Which fragrance house launched CK Be in 1996?

The story behind the answer

Calvin Klein launched CK Be in 1996.

CK Be is a unisex fragrance from Calvin Klein and was marketed as a companion to the brand’s earlier CK One. While CK One used a shared citrus-and-green profile and became a major 1990s cultural product, CK Be presented a softer, more intimate interpretation of gender-neutral fragrance.

The composition was created by perfumer René Morgenthaler. Commonly listed notes include lavender, green notes, peach, mint, magnolia, jasmine, orchid, sandalwood, musk, vanilla, and amber. The black bottle contrasts with CK One’s transparent, frosted appearance.

The “CK” initials stand for Calvin Klein, the American fashion designer and brand founder. CK Be is sometimes incorrectly dated to the same year as CK One, but CK One launched in 1994 and CK Be followed in 1996. Both fragrances are associated with the rise of mainstream unisex perfume marketing.
