Which fragrance brand launched Chanel No. 19 in 1970?

The story behind the answer

Chanel launched Chanel No. 19 in 1970. The perfume was named for Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s birth date, 19 August 1883, and was created by Chanel perfumer Henri Robert.

Chanel No. 19 is known for a green, floral character. Its composition combines green notes, iris, rose, lily of the valley, ylang-ylang, vetiver, sandalwood, and leather-like accents. The iris note is especially associated with the fragrance’s identity.

The name can cause confusion with Chanel No. 5, which was introduced much earlier, in 1921. Chanel No. 19 is a separate perfume and is not a numbered flanker's name for No. 5. Its 1970 launch placed it among Chanel’s major 20th-century fragrance releases.
