The four-door Lamborghini concept unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show was the Estoque.
The Estoque was a one-off four-door saloon designed to show that Lamborghini could expand beyond its traditional two-seat, mid-engine supercars. Its long wheelbase, four seats and luggage capacity gave the brand a more practical grand-tourer format while retaining dramatic Lamborghini styling.
The concept used a front-engine, all-wheel-drive layout and was powered by a 5.2-litre V10 related to the engine in the Gallardo. It was also notable as Lamborghini’s first front-engine vehicle since the LM002 utility vehicle, although it never entered series production.
The Estoque is often mixed up with the Marzal, another four-seat Lamborghini concept, but the Marzal debuted in 1967 and had gullwing doors. The later Urus became Lamborghini’s successful production move into a more practical vehicle category, while the Estoque remained an influential design study from the 2008 show.
