Which Formula One Grand Prix is held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps?
Answer
Belgian Grand Prix
Answer
Belgian Grand Prix
The Formula One Grand Prix held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is the Belgian Grand Prix.
Spa-Francorchamps is in the village of Francorchamps, near Spa, in Belgium’s Wallonia region. It is the home venue of the Belgian Grand Prix and has been associated with the event since the earliest years of Grand Prix racing. The circuit hosted its first Belgian Grand Prix in 1925 and joined the Formula One World Championship calendar in 1950.
The track is famous for its long, fast layout and major elevation changes through the Ardennes. Its best-known section, Eau Rouge and Raidillon, has become one of Formula One’s iconic sequences, although the modern circuit is much shorter than the original public-road course.
A common mistake is to call the event the “Spa Grand Prix.” Spa is the circuit’s informal shorthand; the official Formula One race name is the Belgian Grand Prix. The venue also hosts the 24 Hours of Spa endurance race.
