Rachel Elnaugh was known for founding the online retailer Red Letter Days.
Red Letter Days sold experience gifts, such as leisure and entertainment activities, through a mail-order and online business model. Elnaugh founded the company in 1989, and it became one of the most recognisable British experience-gift brands before encountering financial difficulties and entering administration in 2005.
Elnaugh was part of the original investor panel when Dragon's Den launched in Britain. Her experience made her a notable voice on branding, entrepreneurship and consumer businesses during the programme's early period.
The company should not be confused with Moonpig, the online greeting-card business founded by Nick Jenkins. Both are internet-based consumer brands, but they operate in different markets and were founded by different Dragons.
