Which former Dragon's Den investor was known as the founder of Amstrad?

The story behind the answer

Alan Sugar was the founder of Amstrad and later became a Dragon's Den investor.

Sir Alan Sugar founded Amstrad in 1968. The company name was formed from his name and that of business partner Stanley Kalms, and Amstrad became associated with consumer electronics, computers and telecommunications products.

Sugar appeared as an investor on the British Dragon's Den before becoming better known as the central business figure in The Apprentice. His experience in electronics and consumer products gave him a distinctive profile among television business personalities.

The programmes are separate. Sugar was a dragon in Dragon's Den, but he is most strongly associated with The Apprentice, where candidates compete for the opportunity to work with him. Confusing the two shows can lead to incorrect descriptions of his television role, even though both programmes focus on business and entrepreneurship.
