Which former Dragon left the UK show Dragon's Den after its twelfth series?
Answer
Duncan Bannatyne
Answer
Duncan Bannatyne
Duncan Bannatyne left the UK show Dragon's Den after its twelfth series.
Bannatyne was one of the original Dragons when the BBC programme began in 2005. He remained on the panel for 12 series before departing in 2014. His direct, energetic questioning and distinctive Scottish accent made him one of the show's most recognisable early investors.
The businessman built a career in leisure, health clubs and care homes before becoming a television investor. His Dragon's Den role brought that business experience into a format where founders had to defend their valuations, sales figures and growth plans under pressure.
The departure is sometimes placed in the wrong year because the programme's series, filming schedules and broadcast dates do not always align neatly. Bannatyne left after series 12, while Peter Jones continued. Theo Paphitis and Doug Richard were also former Dragons, but neither is the investor identified by this particular departure point.
