Which first-party studio developed the Uncharted series?

The story behind the answer

Naughty Dog developed the Uncharted series. The Sony-owned first-party studio created the franchise around treasure hunter Nathan Drake, cinematic action, elaborate set pieces, and globe-spanning historical mysteries.

The first game, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, launched for the PlayStation 3 in 2007. Naughty Dog followed it with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves in 2009 and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception in 2011. The studio later made Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for PlayStation 4.

Naughty Dog was founded in 1984 by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin. Before Uncharted, it became widely known for Crash Bandicoot on the original PlayStation and Jak and Daxter on PlayStation 2. Sony acquired the company in 2001, making it part of Sony's first-party development network.

A common mix-up is confusing Naughty Dog with the studios associated with other PlayStation franchises. Santa Monica Studio is best known for God of War, Sucker Punch created inFamous and Ghost of Tsushima, and Insomniac developed Ratchet & Clank and Marvel's Spider-Man.
