Which film won the 2026 Actor Award for male actor in a supporting role?

One Battle After Another won the 2026 Actor Award for male actor in a supporting role through Sean Penn’s performance.

The film is a political action thriller directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti, and its story draws on themes of political extremism, family, and resistance.

Penn received the individual supporting-actor honor for his role in the film. The award was separate from the cast ensemble category, which recognizes a production’s performers collectively rather than one actor’s work.

The 2026 Actor Awards honored film and television performances from the preceding awards cycle. One Battle After Another was one of the leading motion-picture contenders, receiving multiple nominations before Penn’s win.
