Which film introduced Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

The story behind the answer

Captain America: Civil War introduced Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Released in 2016, the film marked Peter Parker’s first MCU appearance, with Tom Holland playing the character.

In the film, Tony Stark visits Peter at his Queens home and recruits him for the conflict between Captain America and Iron Man. Peter joins Iron Man’s side and participates in the airport battle, where he confronts Captain America, Winter Soldier, Falcon, and other heroes. His youthful enthusiasm, quick wit, and improvised combat style immediately established this version of Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Homecoming was not his MCU introduction; it was his first solo MCU film and followed in 2017. Avengers: Age of Ultron came before Civil War but did not feature Peter Parker. Iron Man 3 also predates Peter’s arrival. Civil War therefore holds the specific distinction of introducing Spider-Man to the MCU, even though the character had already appeared in earlier non-MCU film series.
