Which film first brought Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell together as co-stars?

The story behind the answer

The film The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band first brought Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell together as co-stars.

The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band is a 1968 Walt Disney musical film starring Walter Brennan, Buddy Ebsen, Janet Blair, and Goldie Hawn. Kurt Russell also appeared in the film as a child performer. Hawn and Russell therefore shared a screen appearance years before they became one of Hollywood’s best-known couples.

They did not begin a romantic relationship at that time. Their partnership developed after they reunited while making Swing Shift in 1983. Hawn and Russell have remained together without marrying, and they have one child, actor Wyatt Russell, born in 1986.

Many viewers identify Overboard as their first film together because it is their best-known early romantic comedy. It was released in 1987, nearly two decades after their first shared film appearance.
