Which film did Quentin Tarantino write before Tony Scott directed it in 1993?

True Romance is the film Quentin Tarantino wrote before Tony Scott directed it in 1993.

Tarantino wrote the screenplay early in his career, before becoming one of Hollywood’s most prominent directors. Tony Scott directed the released film, which follows Clarence Worley and Alabama Whitman after they become involved with stolen cocaine and organized crime. Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette play the central couple.

The screenplay contains several elements associated with Tarantino, including extended conversations, pop-culture references, sudden violence, and intersecting criminal subplots. The cast includes Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, and Val Kilmer. Tarantino later reused or adapted some ideas from the screenplay in other work.

Natural Born Killers is another project associated with Tarantino, but Oliver Stone directed that film after substantially revising the screenplay. From Dusk Till Dawn was written by Tarantino but directed by Robert Rodriguez, making True Romance the correct Tony Scott collaboration.
