The 2023 premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was hosted by the Cannes Film Festival.

The film had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2023, where it screened out of competition. Harrison Ford attended the event, and the festival presented him with an honorary Palme d’Or recognizing his career and contribution to cinema.

Cannes was a notable choice because the previous Indiana Jones film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, had also premiered there in 2008. Dial of Destiny therefore returned the franchise to Cannes 15 years later, even though it was not competing for the festival’s main awards.

The premiere should not be confused with the film’s commercial release dates. It opened in France on June 28, 2023, and in the United States on June 30. It was the fifth Indiana Jones feature and the first directed by James Mangold rather than Steven Spielberg.
