Giambattista Valli partnered with H&M for a 2019 designer collection under his own fashion name.

The Italian designer is recognized for romantic couture, voluminous silhouettes, floral details and elaborate eveningwear. His H&M collaboration translated those signatures into a limited high-street collection intended to reach a much wider audience.

The partnership was announced at the 2019 amfAR gala in Cannes, where celebrities wore early looks from the collection. H&M released a smaller preview selection before the main launch later that year.

The collaboration is sometimes mixed up with H&M’s earlier partnerships with Balmain, Moschino and Marni. Those were separate collections led by different designers and released in different years.
