Which fashion house launched Eternity, the Calvin Klein fragrance, in 1988?
Answer
Calvin Klein
Answer
Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein launched Eternity in 1988.
Eternity was created by perfumer Sophia Grojsman and became one of Calvin Klein’s major fragrance successes. The women’s Eau de Parfum is generally described as a floral fragrance, with a composition associated with notes such as freesia, citrus, green accords, lily of the valley, rose, violet, sandalwood, and musk.
The name was inspired by a diamond eternity band that Calvin Klein gave to his wife, Kelly Rector. That personal association helped shape the fragrance’s romantic positioning and explains why the title refers to lasting commitment rather than a particular ingredient.
Eternity is often mixed up with Eternity for Men, which was introduced later, in 1989. Later flankers and limited editions also use the Eternity name, but the original women’s fragrance is the 1988 Calvin Klein release. Calvin Klein fragrances are produced under licensing arrangements, but the brand answer remains Calvin Klein.
