Which fantasy series by C.S. Lewis includes the land of Narnia?

The story behind the answer

The Chronicles of Narnia is the C.S. Lewis fantasy series that includes the land of Narnia. The seven-book series follows children who enter or encounter a world populated by talking animals, mythical creatures, and human rulers.

The series begins chronologically with The Magician’s Nephew, which describes Narnia’s creation, but Lewis published The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe first, in 1950. That book introduces Lucy Pevensie’s discovery of Narnia through a wardrobe.

The seven volumes were published between 1950 and 1956. Other major titles include Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse and His Boy, The Last Battle, and The Magician’s Nephew.

Publication order and internal chronology are sometimes confused. The books can be read in either commonly discussed order, but the series itself remains a seven-volume work, not a collection of unrelated novels.
