Answer
Till We Have Faces
Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold is the C.S. Lewis novel published in 1956. It retells the ancient Cupid and Psyche myth from the viewpoint of Orual, a princess in the fictional kingdom of Glome.
The novel is divided into two parts: Orual’s accusation against the gods and her later reconsideration of her own life and motives. Lewis described it as his own favorite among his fictional works. Its themes include jealousy, self-knowledge, sacrifice and the difficulty of seeing truth clearly.
Unlike the Narnia books, the novel is aimed at adults and uses a dark, psychologically complex setting. Lewis drew on Apuleius’s classical story but substantially expanded the sisters’ relationship and the narrator’s inner voice.
