The Arnault family controls the French luxury group LVMH through the family holding company Agache.
Bernard Arnault became the leading shareholder and chairman of LVMH after building control through a holding structure. LVMH was created in 1987 by the merger of Moët et Chandon and Hennessy with Louis Vuitton, bringing champagne, cognac, fashion, and leather goods into one group.
The group later expanded into watches, jewelry, perfumes, cosmetics, and selective retail. Bernard Arnault’s children have held senior roles across LVMH brands, making the company a major example of family influence in a publicly traded multinational. LVMH should not be confused with Kering, the rival French luxury group associated with François Pinault’s family.
