Deborah Meaden replaced Rachel Elnaugh as a dragon on Dragon's Den in its third series.
Meaden is an English businesswoman and television personality. She joined the British investor panel during the programme's third series, becoming one of its most recognisable long-term dragons. Her business background includes leisure and family entertainment ventures, and she became known for focusing closely on commercial fundamentals.
Rachel Elnaugh was part of the original panel but left after the first two series. Meaden's arrival therefore changed the lineup while preserving the show's core format: entrepreneurs still had to defend their valuations and negotiate directly with investors.
The replacement is sometimes misremembered because several prominent female dragons have appeared in later series, including Kelly Hoppen, Jenny Campbell and Sara Davies. However, the dragon who replaced Elnaugh in series three was Meaden.
