Rob Law pitched the Trunki children's ride-on suitcase on the UK television series Dragon's Den.
Law is the British designer and entrepreneur behind Trunki, a lightweight ride-on suitcase designed for children. The product was created to make travelling more engaging for children while giving parents a practical piece of luggage.
The Trunki pitch became famous because the Dragons did not invest, yet the product went on to achieve substantial commercial success. That outcome is one of the programme's most frequently discussed lessons: a television rejection does not necessarily prove that a business lacks potential.
Trunki is also sometimes confused with ordinary wheeled children's luggage. Its distinctive feature is that children can sit on and ride the case, subject to the manufacturer's instructions and appropriate supervision. Law's story is therefore associated both with product design and with the limits of judging a company from one televised pitch.
