Touker Suleyman joined the British television programme Dragons' Den in 2015 and became its first Muslim Dragon.
Suleyman entered the panel for the thirteenth series, broadcast in 2015. He replaced outgoing Dragon Kelly Hoppen and brought experience from fashion retail, manufacturing and investment to the programme's negotiations.
He is a British-Turkish Cypriot entrepreneur who became associated with the fashion company Low Profile Group and the menswear brand Hawes & Curtis. His business background gave him a particular interest in product design, sourcing, retail distribution and brand development.
Suleyman is identified in coverage of the programme as its first Muslim Dragon. The distinction refers to his role as a panel investor, not to the first Muslim entrepreneur to pitch in the Den. Nick Jenkins and Tej Lalvani also joined in later or nearby series, but neither is the answer to the 2015 appointment.
