Deborah Meaden joined the British show Dragon's Den in series three after Rachel Elnaugh's departure.
Meaden is an English businesswoman and investor who became one of the programme's longest-serving and most recognisable Dragons. She joined the panel in 2006, replacing Elnaugh after the first series.
Before television, Meaden built a career in leisure and retail businesses, including ownership and investment in holiday-park operations. Her commercial background gave her particular interest in businesses with strong consumer appeal and scalable operations.
Meaden's arrival is sometimes mistakenly described as the programme's beginning because she became so closely associated with it. The show had already completed two series and had used several different investors before she appeared.
