Which entrepreneur joined Dragons' Den in 2015 as the British programme's first Dragon of Turkish-Cypriot heritage?

The story behind the answer

Touker Suleyman joined Dragons' Den in 2015 as the programme's first Dragon of Turkish-Cypriot heritage.

Suleyman is a British-Turkish-Cypriot entrepreneur and investor whose business interests have included fashion, retail and manufacturing. He became part of the Dragons' Den panel in the thirteenth series, replacing an earlier investor and bringing a background different from that of many previous Dragons.

He is closely associated with the fashion retailer Hawes & Curtis and with Ghost, the British fashion label. His commercial experience has made him particularly interested in branded consumer products, clothing and retail businesses.

The programme has changed its panel repeatedly, so dates and succession are often mixed up. Suleyman should not be confused with Tej Lalvani, who joined in 2017, or with Nick Jenkins, who served as a Dragon before him.
