Which entrepreneur joined BBC's Dragons' Den panel in 2017, replacing Nick Jenkins?

The story behind the answer

Tej Lalvani joined the BBC television programme Dragons' Den in 2017, replacing Nick Jenkins on the investment panel.

Lalvani is best known as chief executive of Vitabiotics, the British vitamins and supplements company founded by his father, Kartar Lalvani. His business background gave him experience in consumer products, branding and international sales—areas that frequently feature in Dragons' Den pitches.

His first appearance was in the programme's fifteenth series. He remained one of the show's regular investors for several series, alongside established dragons such as Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Touker Suleyman.

Nick Jenkins, the founder of Moonpig, had joined the panel in 2015 but left after two series. Tej Lalvani is sometimes confused with later recruits, including Sara Davies and Steven Bartlett, but those entrepreneurs joined the panel in different years.
