Rob Law invented the children's ride-on suitcase Trunki, famously pitched on Dragon's Den.
Law designed Trunki as a version of hand luggage that children could sit on and ride through airports. The product was developed by his company Magmatic and was intended to make travelling with young children more manageable while giving the child an active role in carrying luggage.
Law presented the product on Dragon's Den in 2006. The pitch became one of the programme's most discussed examples because he left without an investment, yet Trunki went on to become a commercially successful product. The contrast between the television outcome and the later business success is why the pitch is often revisited.
Trunki is sometimes confused with other famous Dragon's Den products, including Tangle Teezer and Reggae Reggae Sauce. Those businesses had different founders and product categories. Rob Law is the name specifically associated with Trunki's invention and Magmatic.
