Peter Jones has been a Dragon on the UK version of Dragon's Den since its first series in 2005.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and investor whose businesses have included mobile communications, retail, property and leisure interests. His continued presence made him one of the programme's most recognisable investors.
The wording refers to the UK programme's first series, rather than the year the format was invented in Japan. Other well-known Dragons joined later or left after several series, so they do not fit the distinction of remaining from the beginning.
Jones is also associated with television production and entrepreneurial education outside the BBC show. He has appeared in every series of the British programme, making “original Dragon” a useful description, although the panel itself has changed repeatedly over the years.
