Peter Jones has appeared as a Dragon's Den investor since the show's first series.
Jones was one of the original Dragons when the British version launched in 2005. He is a businessman whose interests have included technology, media, telecommunications and retail, making him one of the panel's longest-serving investors.
The composition of the panel has changed repeatedly since the launch. Original Dragons such as Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard later departed, while newer investors joined in different series. Jones remained a continuous presence through those changes.
A common mix-up is to call Jones the only Dragon ever to appear on the programme. He is the longest-serving continuous Dragon, but many other entrepreneurs have occupied the panel. The programme's format allows the investors to make offers individually or together, so Jones has sometimes invested alone and sometimes formed partnerships with other Dragons.
