Peter Jones has appeared as a Dragon on the UK television show Dragons' Den since its first series in 2005.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and investor whose business interests have included telecommunications, technology, media and property. He was one of the original panel members when the BBC launched its UK adaptation of the Japanese format Money Tigers.
Although other early Dragons later left the programme, Jones remained a regular investor across subsequent series. This makes him the longest-serving current Dragon, rather than the first Dragon overall or the first permanent female Dragon. The programme’s panel has changed repeatedly, so questions about the “original Dragons” and the “longest-serving Dragon” are not interchangeable.
Jones is also known for founding Phones International Group and for involvement in Sony Ericsson and other technology ventures. His continuing presence has made him one of the programme’s most recognisable investors.
