Rob Law founded the children's luggage company Trunki before appearing on Dragon's Den.
Law developed the ride-on suitcase concept for children and launched Trunki as a product designed to make travel more practical and engaging for young passengers. The colourful case could be ridden or pulled, giving it a distinctive appearance compared with ordinary children's luggage.
Law pitched the business on Dragon's Den in 2006. The investors rejected the proposal, but the televised rejection did not prevent the product from becoming commercially successful. This is an important distinction: appearing on the programme does not guarantee investment, and a business can continue growing after a pitch fails to secure a deal.
Trunki later became an internationally recognised travel-product brand. The company and its founder are frequently mentioned in discussions of Dragon's Den businesses because the story illustrates how publicity, product design and persistence can matter even without a completed investment agreement.
