Which entrepreneur founded Tangle Teezer, the detangling hairbrush business pitched on BBC's Dragons' Den?

The story behind the answer

Shaun Pulfrey founded Tangle Teezer, the detangling hairbrush business pitched on BBC's Dragons' Den.

Pulfrey, a hairdresser and inventor, developed the brush after noticing that conventional brushes often pulled and damaged tangled hair. He initially presented the idea under the name Hair Tangle, but the pitch did not secure investment from the Dragons.

The product was later refined and relaunched as Tangle Teezer. Its distinctive flexible teeth were designed to move through knots with less pulling than many traditional brushes. The business went on to become an international beauty brand.

A common mix-up is to credit a Dragon with creating the product. The Dragons were potential investors; Pulfrey was the founder and inventor. The televised pitch is remembered partly because the business succeeded despite not receiving an offer in the Den.
