Sara Davies founded Crafter's Companion before joining the Dragon's Den panel.
Davies created Crafter's Companion while she was a student at the University of York. Her first product was an envelope-making device designed to work with popular card-making tools. After the product appeared on the television shopping channel Ideal World, the business expanded into a wider range of craft products and became an international company.
Her entrepreneurial story is often simplified as a television success, but the business existed long before her Dragon's Den appointment. Davies joined the BBC programme in 2019, bringing experience from manufacturing, retail, product design and home-shopping sales.
Crafter's Companion should not be confused with the businesses associated with other Dragons. The name refers to Davies's own craft company, not to a product or investment from the programme. Her company remains the key business most closely associated with her entrepreneurial career.
