Rob Law created the Trunki children's ride-on suitcase before appearing on Dragon's Den.
Trunki is a lightweight children's suitcase designed so that children can sit on it and ride while travelling. Law developed the product through his company Magmatic, which he founded in the United Kingdom. The design was based on an earlier ride-on concept and was refined into the Trunki product sold internationally.
Law appeared on Dragon's Den in 2006 seeking investment. The pitch became notable because the dragons did not make him an offer, yet Trunki went on to become a successful and widely recognised travel product.
People sometimes confuse Trunki with other Dragon's Den products that did receive investment, such as the multi-purpose tool invented by Tom Pellereau. The key distinction is that Law is the founder of the children's ride-on suitcase, while Trunki's later commercial success did not depend on a completed Dragon's Den deal.
