Which entrepreneur created the travel case Trunki, a product later rejected by the Dragons on Dragons' Den?

The story behind the answer

Rob Law created the travel case Trunki, a product later rejected by the Dragons on Dragons' Den.

Law designed Trunki as ride-on luggage for children. The idea aimed to make airport and travel journeys easier by turning a suitcase into something children could sit on and pull or ride. Law presented the business on the programme seeking investment, but no Dragon made an offer.

The televised rejection did not prevent the company from developing. Trunki became an internationally recognised children’s travel-product brand, and its bright, animal-inspired cases helped distinguish it from conventional adult luggage.

A common mistake is to treat a Dragons' Den appearance as proof that a company received investment. Entrepreneurs can leave without a deal and still build successful businesses afterwards. Trunki is one of the programme's best-known examples of a rejected pitch that went on to achieve substantial commercial recognition.
