Which entrepreneur created the Tangle Teezer hairbrush featured on the British show Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Shaun Pulfrey created the Tangle Teezer hairbrush featured on the British show Dragon's Den.

Pulfrey was a hairdresser and inventor who developed a brush designed to remove tangles while reducing pulling and breakage. He originally presented the product on Dragon's Den, seeking investment to develop and market it. Although the television pitch did not produce the deal he wanted, the product later became a major commercial success.

Tangle Teezer brushes use a distinctive arrangement of flexible teeth. The design was marketed for detangling wet or dry hair and became especially associated with hair-care retail and professional use.

The story is often cited as an example of a Dragon's Den business succeeding after an unfavourable pitch. Appearing on the programme is not the same as receiving investment: entrepreneurs can use the exposure, refine their proposition and continue independently. Pulfrey's later success therefore did not depend on closing a deal in the studio.
