Sara Davies became a Dragons' Den investor in 2019 after founding Crafter's Companion.
Davies founded Crafter’s Companion in 2005 while she was a university student. The company began with a tool designed to help crafters make envelopes and grew into an international craft-supplies business selling products through television, shops and online channels.
Her early success came from identifying a practical problem for papercrafters and developing a product around it. That origin story became part of her public profile when she joined the BBC investment programme in 2019.
Crafter’s Companion is a company, not the name of the original product itself. The firm later expanded into papercrafting, sewing, stamping and related supplies. Davies is also associated with the North East business community and received an MBE for services to entrepreneurship and business.
