Which entrepreneur became a Dragon on the BBC's Dragon's Den in series 3?

The story behind the answer

Deborah Meaden became a Dragon on the BBC's Dragon's Den in series 3.

Meaden joined the programme in 2006, replacing Rachel Elnaugh on the panel. She had already built a business career in leisure and retail, including involvement with family businesses and the Weststar leisure group.

Her Dragon's Den appearances made her particularly associated with direct questions about margins, company control and the route from a promising product to a viable large-scale business. She has also become a prominent television and media personality in the United Kingdom.

Series numbers can be misleading because the programme's cast changed between filming periods and broadcast years. Meaden's arrival is conventionally identified with the third series, rather than with the show's 2005 launch series.
