Sara Davies became a Dragon's Den investor in 2019 after founding Crafter's Companion.
Davies founded Crafter's Companion while she was a student at the University of York. The company began after she developed a tool that helped crafters make envelopes more easily, and it grew into a business selling craft products and tools.
She joined the Dragon's Den panel in 2019 and became the first regular female dragon to appear while pregnant. Her business background is unusual among television investors because it grew from a specialist product aimed at a clearly defined hobby market.
Crafter's Companion is sometimes confused with a television brand created for the programme. It was an established company founded by Davies before her Dragon's Den role. Davies has also appeared on other television programmes, including Strictly Come Dancing, but that later television work is separate from her appointment as a dragon.
