Which earlier Pokémon games inspired Pokémon Pokopia’s habitat-creation concept?
Answer
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire
Answer
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire inspired Pokémon Pokopia’s habitat-creation concept.
Pokémon Pokopia was conceived by Shigeru Ohmori, who had worked as a map designer on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Reflecting on that earlier work led him to consider how appealing it would be for players to create their own Pokémon habitats.
That idea became a foundation for Pokopia’s gameplay. Players alter the landscape, construct homes, plant greenery, and arrange objects that help attract particular Pokémon. The result expands the traditional Pokémon world from exploration into deliberate environmental design.
Ruby and Sapphire are sometimes confused with the original Red and Blue games because Kanto is Pokopia’s setting. The inspiration claim concerns Ohmori’s earlier map-design experience, not the region used in the story.
