Which Dragon’s Den pitch featured the children’s ride-on suitcase later sold as Trunki?

The story behind the answer

The Dragon’s Den pitch featured the children’s ride-on suitcase later sold as Trunki.

Trunki is a ride-on children’s suitcase designed by British product designer Rob Law. Children can sit on the case and pull or carry it while travelling, giving the product a function beyond ordinary luggage. Law presented the idea on Dragon’s Den while seeking investment for the business.

The Dragons did not invest in the pitch. Trunki nevertheless became a successful product, receiving design recognition and achieving international sales. Its story is often cited as an example of a business that prospered despite leaving the programme without a deal.

The product is sometimes described simply as a ride-on toy, but its defining commercial category is children’s luggage. Trunki combines a suitcase body with a child-sized seat and a design intended for travel, making the product name the clearest answer.
