Which Dragon’s Den investor was the youngest-ever Dragon when he joined the panel in 2022?

Steven Bartlett was the youngest-ever Dragon when he joined the Dragon’s Den panel in 2022.

Bartlett joined the BBC programme in 2022, replacing departing investor Tej Lalvani. At the time, he was 29 years old, making him the youngest person to serve as a Dragon. His appointment reflected the growing importance of technology, social media and digital-first businesses in the programme’s investment landscape.

Before joining the panel, Bartlett co-founded Social Chain, a social-media marketing company, with Dominic McGregor. He also became known through podcasting and entrepreneurship, giving him a public profile among younger business founders.

Bartlett’s record concerns age at appointment, not the youngest entrepreneur ever to pitch in the Den. It also should not be confused with Sara Davies’s distinction as the youngest female Dragon when she joined in 2019.
